<iframe src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?lt1=_blank&#038;bc1=000000&#038;IS2=1&#038;bg1=FFFFFF&#038;fc1=000000&#038;lc1=0000FF&#038;t=disnwallblog-20&#038;o=1&#038;p=8&#038;l=as1&#038;m=amazon&#038;f=ifr&#038;md=10FE9736YVPPT7A0FBG2&#038;asins=B001IXSU8M" style="width:120px;height:240px;" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0" align="right"></iframe><br />
<P><br />
Unlike many artists, it was hard to pinpoint which one song would represent Lady GaGa. &#8220;Poker Face,&#8221; &#8220;LoveGame,&#8221; and &#8220;Bad Romance&#8221; were all strong representations of her sound, but I think the VMA performance of &#8220;Paparazzi&#8221; was what put that song over the top. The fact that it was an original performance (Beyonce&#8217;s was a rehash, Pink used the trapeze section from her tour, Muse was just a normal performance, and Jay-Z kinda stood there. The only other performance I considered &#8220;original&#8221; was Taylor Swift&#8217;s and only the first half was any good) broke it away from the meh performances. And the fact that she opened the performance with a really slow version of &#8220;Poker Face&#8221; was amazing.<br />
<P><br />
Back to &#8220;Papparazzi&#8221; though. The song itself really over the top and a nice jab to the whole attention getting society we have. I love the melody and I&#8217;ve heard a stripped version of the song and it&#8217;s still beautiful:<br />
<P><br />
<object width="320" height="265"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/l3R3KqrJAI4&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/l3R3KqrJAI4&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="265"></embed></object><br />
<P><br />
Sometimes, you just need a piano. Can Britney do that? No.<br />
<P><br />
Also, she knows how to do an SNL performance: <P><br />
<object width="320" height="265"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_y5IZiFY65M&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_y5IZiFY65M&#038;hl=en_US&#038;fs=1&#038;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="320" height="265"></embed></object><br />
<P><br />
I found the music video to be amazing. The sheer fact that Lady GaGa spends time making really kick ass music videos when places like MTV doesn&#8217;t even play music videos anymore. They have an HD capable channel and many videos are just amazing on a full rectangular screen.<br />
<P><br />
Where was I? Lady GaGa. I find her to be fascinating. From what I&#8217;ve read she&#8217;s worked her ass off to get to where she is today. Hell, how she managed to make a deluxe album in such a short time&#8230; I mean i know, that seems like the norm (see Mariah Carey)&#8230;but The Fame Monster could have stood as it&#8217;s own album with several really strong songs including &#8220;Speechless&#8221; and &#8220;Telephone.&#8221;<br />
<P><br />
I wish her the best for next year Grammys and all.</p>
