20) Pussycat Dolls – Hush Hush; Hush Hush

The original version of “Hush Hush” was slow and boring. Someone woke up and realized that most of the Pussycat Dolls’ songs have some strong beat to it. Even a slow song like “I Hate This Part” has a bit of a driving beat. Luckily, someone decided to remix the song and add in disco, specifically Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive.”

The song is very very danceable and has that club quality about it. One of those “girl power” songs, something that the Pussycat Dolls are good at anyway.

I don’t exactly understand why tacking on an extra “Hush Hush” explains to America that there was a change. I personally changed my iTunes file to “Hush Hush (I Will Survive Mix).” At least I know the difference.

There’s something really cheesy about the music video as well. It’s stereotypical with Nicole with the Diana Ross hair and the very Pussycat Doll styled choreography. Why she’s Diana Ross and not Gloria Gaynor is beyond me.
