Dusty?

Today while I was ready to get some sort of post done, I had my laptop at an interesting angle: it caught every dust particle and finger print on my screen. Since I’m in Plattsburgh, I guess I’ll have to deal with the consequences.
Traditionally, I don’t mind attacking any electronic based screen with a soft cloth and a a blue cleaner with some ammonia in it. While I like to be green and all, I don’t understand why ammonia is evil. I swear, it’s good for no streaks. I’m sure that someone out there is screaming “Don’t do that to the monitor! Ahhh! Nooooo!” Well, I’ve been doing it for a while and it seems to work.
I just wiped my monitor with a soft cloth…Well, I guess I’ll wait until Monday to get rid of the smudgy fingerprints.
Quick Update.

Hey everyone, I’m spending the weekend over at Plattsburgh and boy was the ride really smooth. A lot of cops were out, I assume getting their quota. I was a little surprised that there were so many at the middle of the month. I guess Westchester County is lazy and have that “Oh Crap it’s the end of the month already?” mentality.
Either way, Plattsburgh is a minimum of seven degrees less than southern New York. Boy is it cold.
I’m spending my time watching the opening for the Olympics. While I don’t have any biases towards the athletes but I am keeping my eye on former Dancing with the Stars competitors Apollo (Anton) Ohno and Louie Vito. Also, I’d like to see what all the hype is about Yu-Na Kim (or Kim Yuna, depending on how you feel), because I hear that she’s amazing. Apparently her face is plastered everywhere in South Korea advertising anything and everything. Kinda like that one Wonder Girls commercial for a fast food chicken chain.
Where was I? Oh right, I have to remember to take pictures.
Winter Wonderland part deux!

Well, I guess I got what I wished for: snow. Yay! I spent part of the day shoveling, but it was a bit moot. I think another four inches of snow added itself to the shoveled area so I’m gonna have to go out and shovel yet again sometime before American Idol (heh).
I’m not complaining at all, on the contrary I love the snow and shoveling. I spent some time just walking around the neighborhood in a jacket I haven’t worn in years.
Apparently the last big snowstorm that hit my area was some time in 2006. It’s hard for me to gauge that because I was up in New Paltz where it seemed to have “bad snowstorms” all the time.
Either way, I have myself prepared. Candles, soup, and some other random food to eat. Mostly prunes…but yeah, I got water and stuff as well.
What’s on tonight: American Idol
Feb0
Hollywood week is my favorite time on American Idol, we’ve finally gotten past the crappy singers and one wonders how well the rest do. Yesterday there were about 180 contestants, tonight is about 96 contestants all doing my favorite part (which doesn’t get enough air time): Group performances. I think both American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance should focus on this section a bit more to showcase some of the teamwork these people have. But here are the reasons why the Group Section really holds little weight:
+ Choreographed Dancing – No contestant has ever really gone on to have a fully blown dance track, so I don’t understand why all these groups insist on making big choreographed numbers.
+ The handful of Gag Contestants survive – Maybe it was just last season that was off, but I still don’t understand how Bikini girl made it through, luckily she caused so much drama during Hollywood week that it was bearable. But how did Nick Mitchell / “Norman Gentle” make it through, I will never know. Oddly, they didn’t show much of Tatiana in her group performance either (or at least I don’t remember it) so I assume she can actually work with others. I’m digressing aren’t I?
+ The unnecessary drama – Lack of sleep causes stress, and then apparently everyone reverts back to their stereotypes. The gays bitch, the stereotypical Black women bitch, the bitchy blonde white chicks bitch, the Latinos bitch, and the rest just cry. Somewhere Tyra Banks is sucking up their souls.
Either way, I will definitely be watching tonight in hopes of a train wreck. There will definitely be tears.
Another ding for the Polish

Apparently the Polish (according to this news article) think that the “Pedobear” is one of the many mascots of the Vancouver Olympics. While the design is somewhat close, I think that it’s something that you shouldn’t mistake.
Don’t get me wrong, Pedobear is one of those many interesting internet sensations, but the name alone points out something wrong with him. Pedo…as in pedophile. I believe the story goes that the Pedobear chases little girls. Here’s the main video, followed by a “live version:”
I guess that I just really love how he’s just chilling with the other mascots. Either way, I guess I’ll keep an eye on if he sneaks his way into the crowd. Yay! Olympics on Friday!
Winter Wonderlan…oh wait, nevermind

For once, I was ready for snow. I was like, “Bring it on weather!” I had my gloves, scarf, thermal pant-things, and ear grips ready. Then what happened? No snow. Sorry, everything just went to the south.
Now in all reality, I’m happy nothing happened. I got my car washed yesterday to wash off all the excess salt. But I know that there are people out there (weathermen) that were so disappointed that they got nothing. Recently I caught this video and I laughed hysterically:
Weathermen cream their pants over hurricanes, blizzards, and tornadoes don’t they?
