My Top 30 Songs of 2009 – Number 7

7) Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling

"I Gotta Feeling" was a return to that classic Black Eyed Peas formula of having a fun time with friends, partying, and possibly drinking. The beat is just catchy as hell, and one even ignores the string section that opens the song.

Clearly any reference that would put the word "Mozoltov" into their song, and refer to it more than once is amazing.

Either way, this song was the obvious choice for B.E.P. I found "Boom Boom Pow" to be one of the most annoying songs of 2009.

Ironically, this is one of those music videos that I've never seen until I wrote this post. It looks pretty typical for what the lyrics are telling us to the visuals we are given. I will admit that I had no clue why Fergie was dressed up as a hooker in the beginning. Clearly this video was done before and recently (Lady GaGa's "Just Dance" did a better job). Oh and I hope that the black light reactive paint is washable. I will say, my favorite visual was near the end, some drunk girl drops the cookies on the floor. Personally speaking, I prefer this lip dub:

Either way, the song was catchy and didn't really need a music video. The unnecessary slow motion and lesbian kissing made me wonder who the hell thought up of the concept.
