11) Kelly Clarkson - Already Gone
Kelly Clarkson had a bumpy road with "Already Gone" : she was pretty much pissed off at One Republic's lead singer Ryan Tedder because the song basically has a similar melody to Beyonce's "Halo." The song was weird on the charts, but it did seem to gain some momentum as the year ended. Kelly did manage to rearrange the song a little bit for live performances so it was stripped down and less "Halo"-y.
I found the music video to be simplistic but beautiful. I'm still not sure exactly why Kelly Clarkson was wandering around what seemed like a hotel that had a studio. Re: Her weight gain. Kelly Clarkson is built to have a little bit of chub and that's sexy. Oh and taking photos from below, pointing up will make anyone look kinda fat.
The song got stuck in my head when they started using it on So You Think You Can Dance over the summer season as one of the elimination songs. It's beautiful and Kelly is very powerful in the song so capturing the sadness of elimination matched really wekk.
I'm happy to see Kelly continue with impacting the charts, she'll always be the first American Idol and she's still doing a great job.
Once in a while listening to Kelly makes me miss Sarah Mclachlan.
