I’ve recently tried my best to make my bedroom a little less cluttered. I stood back and looked at my room and thought, “Wow, cleaning didn’t help.” Then I realized the one flaw of my room: I can’t rearrange anything. I love rearranging things.
After my sister moved down to Florida, I took over her room. Her room, for some odd and unapparent reason, is far away from the rest of the bedrooms and originally was intended to be for two guys. Luckily, I have the inflated head to fit the room to my liking.
Normally, things don’t stay the same in my room. Even when I was a child, I would reposition my bed (in my old room), replace old video game posters from magazines (remember when they used to give things away?) with new ones and adjust where my TV is.
In college, every semester would change themes. I remember most of them: my freshman year had a “musical influence” theme, followed by a colorful trippy colored theme. My sophomore year was all about this black, white, and red theme which was tweaked in the spring semester. My junior year was themed to a very nature-based idea, there were a lot of greens and wood contact wallpaper. My senior theme was all about floating on a cloud (since I lived on a loft). I also had a small transitory summer room, but that will be left ignored. Many people also remember that I pimped out my bathroom. Girls and gay men alike swooned. Luckily I had roommates with open minds.
Where was I? Oh yeah. My room right now can’t really be adjusted. Most of the items in my room are basically glued to the walls. Unless I get aggressive and rip the installed drawer system out, I have no choice but to keep them. My bed is stuck in one position because I can’t place the bed on the parallel side because it’s bad feng shui. I’ve tried to move a few things around and because of the electrical outlets, I’ve placed them back in the same place.
It’s a little disheartening, but I’m going to figure everything out soon. I probably should budget my small income into fixing my cave.
