My Top 30 Songs of 2009 – Number 25

25) Jamie Foxx – Blame It

“Blame It” is one of those club oriented songs with a strong beat and a catchy way of saying the word “alcohol.” The fact that there is silly pop culture references like Hennessy makes me giggle (why you ask? Something involving poverty.)

I also didn’t expect much from Jamie Foxx, even though his singing was decent in Dreamgirls. I think of him as an actor first, followed by a comedian, then as a singer. I think that T-Pain did most of the work to make this song a hit.

The song is stereotypical club/party, but there is nothing wrong with that. Damn catchy music.

Extra credit goes to the song’s music video. Anytime that Jake Gyllenhaal is involved, I have to smile just a little more.
