Still a Kid?
After finishing my review of that Hello Kitty Album, I've looked back at my database and tried to figure out what to review. Now since I'm new and a little nervous to take the big albums (or the fact that I'm slow and the vultures swoop in and take it before me) I'm picking albums that are in my range, but a little...well... kiddy. There are two lullabye albums and one from a famous trio of... squirrel-like rodents. Well that narrows it down.
Eric has often called me a kid, or stuck in a kid's mentality, but I really think that I'm doing one thing that he can appreciate: something I like. Sure, the pay right now is non-existant as I try to grow credibility and a stronger portfolio, but hey I get free CDs and get to watch TV. It's weird I guess. I'm starting a little slower and behind a few steps. Damn me for not deciding to do some journalism-based classes.
I don't know, but I will review bigger (i almost typed "better" but there is nothing wrong with the albums I currently get; they may not be as mainstream, but they are good) albums for Blog Critics sooner or later. I'm still looking for other sites to write for as well, music wise.
Week In Review – Nov. 10, 2008
Whoo Boy, this week was a little bit of a doozy for me. I dunno, I think I may have gotta a little bit of a winter funk coming in. I fear that having no morning walks will affect me. I gotta tell myself to get on the Wii Fit and exercise.
The Week in Review is going to be a daily occurrence on Fridays. I will post some (not all) of my posts this week. Some will become repetitive, others are kind of interesting. Wander If you like.
This will also motivate me to do better and have more. I need a good quality/quantity ratio.

The Tie
I had a conversation with my sister this weekend. She gave me a funny story. Her husband was often pestered for looking for work, but he did some computer programming as an occupation. That meant he was often home working on his computer. One day he decided to go around the house in a nice shirt and pants. Somehow this quelled the pestering from the parents.
Of course I misunderstood this story. Today after my morning walk, I showered and wore my normal clothes. I decided to put on a tie. Now this wasn’t for my parents sake, it actually was for myself. I figured, “If I put this tie on, I’ll be at work.”
I’m not sure if this technique was actually that effective though. I did get one or two post/articles, but I was still as distracted and unfocused as ever. My mother storming in wanting me to print out documents for her didn’t help.
Clearly, I’m typing this post with the tie on. Maybe it’s the tie. I randomly picked what I call my “New Paltz” tie. Granted I could have called it my Mets, Knicks, or Syracuse Orange tie. I’m not the hugest believer in feng shui and the like, but maybe it’s the bad energy coming from the tie. Or maybe where my desk is located. Maybe this is an excuse for me to get a laptop.
